William Reavis Johnson was born on September 28, 1940 to William and Gladys Johnson in Temple, Texas.  He grew up in Little River, Texas.  Reavis graduated from Academy High School in 1957.  Known as Reavis, Will or Poppy, he was the kindest, gentlest man you could ever meet.  He was selfless and cared more for others than he did himself.  He was the #1 fan to all 8 of his kids and all his grandchildren.  He and wife Lynda made an effort to be at every event they could make.   He loved playing dominoes with his friends and family and he loved to travel. Another of his favorite hobbies was taking photos.  Many of the family were blessed to have him photograph special moments in their lives.  He seriously bled Maroon through and through and wore that Aggie ring (Class of 67) until his last days of life when he proudly passed it on to his 1st Aggie grandson, Brent.  He absolutely loved being around all his family and never wanted to leave a good party.  He continued to exhibit this behavior until his very last breath.  He went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 12, 2021.  He was surrounded by family that cried and sang to him until his last breath to “You are my Sunshine” and that good ole’ Aggie War Hymn.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Billie, brothers-in-law Whitey, Al, and Leroy, nephew Dewey and niece Sheri. Survived by wife Lynda; children Rhonda Becvar and husband Keith, Susan Roehling and husband Michael, Gary Abke and wife Melanie, Larry Abke and wife Julie; former wife Glenda Winnett and their children Glen Johnson, Steve Johnson and wife Nina, Crystal Funk and husband Karl, Heather Perry and husband Rex; Grandchildren Avery Funk, Kory Funk and wife Kaytlin, Tyler Funk and wife Haley, Brent Perry and fiancee Chelsea, Logan Perry, Dancey Johnson, Patrick Howland and wife Sierra, Jade Rainsong, Dustin Abke and wife Cassie, Clayton Abke and wife Brittany, Levi Steely and fiancée Kara, Calley McGinley, Braden Roehling, Brian Becvar, Britni Sandifer and husband Brian, Cheyanne Priddy and husband Thomas, 18 great grandchildren and his faithful chihuahua Millie. There were many friends that came and went, but his best friend from the time he was a young boy remained his best friend for his whole life.  He will always hold a special place in his heart for Jack Bennett and some day they will “raise hell” again. Dad/Reavis/Will/Poppy leaves behind a legacy, showing all of the young men in his life how to laugh and cry without regretting either, to relentlessly pursue your dreams, and to love passionately.  Poppy will forever be in our hearts.Pallbearers are Dustin Abke, Kory Funk, Tyler Funk, Patrick Howland, Brent Perry, Logan Perry, Braden Roehling and Levi Steely.  Honorary Pallbearers are Brian Becvar, Jack Bennett and Evan Funk. Reba Mearl Kendall left this world on November 14, 2021. She was born in Linden, Texas, on August 11, 1934. Her early life was something of a vagabond journey as her father worked at sawmills in many small towns, often living less than a year in one place. Reba developed the ability to adapt and a streak of independence, since she was often tasked with chores as the oldest sibling. Another factor accelerating her independence was that her mother gave birth to her at only 14 years old. Reba started her working career early–first at a Hempstead drugstore at 15, then working in downtown Houston at a large bank at the age of 17. She had great memories there, living with her best friend, Faye Mewis, who she will now get to see again in Heaven. Her life entered a new chapter when she met and married Delbert H. Kendall Sr., a young and dashing Air Force officer, in 1953. After raising five boys over the next 20 years, she tragically lost her son, Steven David Kendall, in the summer of 1975. She also lost her husband in October of the same year. Her strong will and independence gave her the ability to care for and provide for her four living children, who all graduated from college. She was a fixture in the Waller County Auditor’s Office and Treasurer’s Office for many years, where she worked with dear friends Deanie Schumacher, Anna Beth Merten, Susan Winfree, and several others. She lived her final couple of years at Abundant Life Assisted Living in Conroe, where Marque Burbatt took great care of Reba. A special thanks to Vio, her daily caretaker. Reba was preceded in death by husband Delbert H. Kendall, son Steven David Kendall, father Lewis David Beaty, mother Jewel Beaty Whitworth, and sister Pam Grant. Charles Lynn Dodd, 78, of Hempstead, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021, just days shy of his 79th birthday.  Visitation will be held at McWilliams Funeral Home on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 10:00- 11:00 a.m. with Memorial Service starting at 11:00 a.m. Charles, also known as “Charlie”, was born on September 26, 1942 in Baytown, TX.  He was the son of Shirley Gray Dodd and Jimmie Charles “J.C.” Dodd.  Charles spent much of his childhood in Baytown, TX. At the age of 12 he was considered a miracle survivor, beating all odds of melanoma cancer. At a young age, his life consisted of school, baseball and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He graduated from Brazosport High School, where he was a star member of the baseball team. With his impressive baseball career he was looked at by the San Francisco Giants. But his dream of becoming a Aggie outweighed his love for baseball. College Station Texas is where he knew he belonged. After graduation, Charles attended Texas A&M, where he was a proud member of the Aggie Corps. Two of his most prized possessions were his Aggie ring and his Senior Boots. It has been rumored, never confirmed nor denied involvement with “borrowing” Bevo. He graduated from A&M in 1967 with a degree in Marketing.  Even though he left College Station, his heart never left his beloved Aggies. Charles pursued a career in sales.  His charming personality made it easy for him to build relationships and experience success in every job he held.  Charles moved to Albuquerque, NM in the mid-1970s.  He loved the cool weather and dry climate, and spent much of his time in the Sandia Mountains.  In 1989, he moved back to Texas to be close to family. In 1991, Charles discovered that he once again had melanoma cancer. Radiation treatments to destroy the cancer left him with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and a life of doctor’s appointments and medications.  He became an advocate for Cancer screenings and Cancer prevention, and was chosen to speak at a Cancer Survivor’s Event, as one of the longest living survivors from MD Anderson. Charles was an avid armchair politician and football coach.  He spent many hours watching conservative news shows and watching sporting events on TV.  He lived for “red” political victories, and would complain vocally to anyone who would listen when they were “blue”!   He loved watching all sporting events, but his favorite sport was college football, especially when his Aggies were playing!  He followed the team closely, and loved to discuss their successes and his strategies to make them better! His pride and joy was his grandchildren.  Nothing brought him more joy than holding them in his lap, reading books and playing games with them!  He loved to show off their pictures and brag about their accomplishments! He always welcomed his grandchildren with the biggest hugs and a smile. Charles is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley, and father, J.C, brother, Tom Dodd, and wife of 45 years, Sandra Lloyd Dodd.  He is survived by his daughters, Traci Chandler of Hempstead, Susanne Wagner of Coldspring, Cara Boggs of Pasadena. Erwin Lee Hartman, Jr., known to most as “Lee” or “Junior” or “Pastor” was born on August 20, 1947 to Erwin Lee Hartman, Sr. and Opal Grace (Stefka) Trent. Daddy was a faithful servant of the Lord and just couldn’t wait to get there, cashing in the ultimate lottery ticket on Sunday, April 18, 2021.  Lee is preceded in death by his father and his brother, Gary Douglas Hartman. He is survived by his mama, Opal Trent; his daughters Anessa Sillman and husband Chris, Andrea Hartman and fiancé Michael Silva; his son Garrett Hartman and wife Valerie; his grandchildren Bridgit, Dallas, and Eleni Sillman; Noah Lopez; Devin Garrison; and Hayden, Jake, and Blake Hartman; his Aunt Hilda Grace (Hartman) Dodd; and many cousins. He also leaves behind his beloved congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hempstead, Texas. Daddy graduated from Hempstead High School in 1965 and served in the United States Army from 1966-1969. He married the mother of his children in 1975, divorced in 1984, never remarried and eventually settled down at home in Monaville, Texas. Over the years, he worked professionally as a purchasing agent for the flange and valve industry, retiring in 2006. His work took him away in 1986 where he lived in Russellville, Arkansas for 3 years. He enjoyed his time there but was known to say that he got a little teary-eyed every time he came back home to Texas to pick up his kids for a visit. Lee loved Texas and the day he permanently crossed the state line back home was an emotional one! In 1995, Lee began a new journey as an assistant minister.  After what he thought was a temporary situation looked to become more permanent, Lee took many classes and in 2003, he became the official lay minister. He spent 18 years devoted to his congregation at Trinity Lutheran Church. A life long Christian and long-time member of TLC, his faith became the stuff of legends as he grew in his role as a servant of God. He loved the Lord and he loved the hearts of his people. His number one priority was making sure that all were served and his devotion will live on in the hearts of those that will now look to a new leader. Lee had a few passions and his life was spent enjoying all of them!  We don’t really have to note it here, because everyone knew, but Lee devoted his time to the University of Texas Longhorns football program and has been attending games in the same seats since 1974. He is on the Chancellor’s Council for Texas Athletics because of his financial contributions throughout the last 47 years. He is buried in burnt orange and wouldn’t have it any other way. He also took some time to really hone his golf game, playing for 60 years. He has two hole-in-ones on his resume and enjoyed playing Emerald Hills in Louisiana the most. He loved music and directed church choir for over 30 years. He also played piano and was particularly fond of Willie Nelson.  He enjoyed long drives down the backroads of Waller County in his Lincoln, and never did meet a stranger! He was an excellent chef and loved to cook for his family. Lee also lended his talents to organizing the Monaville School Reunion, and financially supported St. Joseph’s Indian School in South Dakota.  Lee was a natural caretaker and nurturer, devoting the last 8 years to caring for his mama before she moved to a full time caregiver home in 2020. All of the things he loved passionately, he passed on to his children. Each carries special memories of various trips and time spent together on the things they loved the most. His presence in the lives of his children will be sorely missed. He was a loving father that never ended a call without saying “I love you,” never ended a visit without a hug and a kiss, and made sure that we all knew how much we were loved by the father we all call “Daddy.” He was looking forward to officiating the pending nuptials of his daughter, Andrea and the pending baptism of his newest grandson, Blake. It won’t be the same without him, but we have comfort knowing that he is so happy at home with our loving Father in heaven. A celebration of his rich and full life will be led by Pastor Mike Weider of Emmaus Road Katy and held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hempstead, Texas on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10:00am. Pallbearers are his cousins, Rick Alexander and Ryan Alexander; his grandsons, Noah Lopez, Dallas Sillman, and Devin Garrison; his sons-in-law, Chris Sillman and Mike Silva; and his close friend, Tracy Hoffart. Interment will be at Hempstead Cemetery. After the graveside service, the church is graciously hosting a lunch for the family and everyone that knew Lee in the church parish hall. A debt of gratitude is owed to Michael and April Fink for responding to our needs so quickly on Sunday morning. Your kindness is appreciated and your friendship is treasured. The family would also like to especially thank Kevin McWilliams with McWilliams Funeral Home and Tracy Hoffart at TLC. We could not have made it through this week without the love you each have for our daddy! In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church to further the ministry our daddy so carefully shepherded.  Bye, Daddy – “I love you, baby!”
